Welcome Valentina Camille!

Saturday right before we headed into the hospital.

Last picture as a family of three!

Me and Qui Que in the hospital.

Here she is!  Valentina Camille Darancou, born at 3:40 pm.   It took me a while to become dilated to a 10 but once I was I only pushed for 20 minutes and she came right out.   When they gave her to me she wasn't crying.  I was worried  she was not ok but she was.  She just has a great little temperament.

My nurse, Rita.  She was great.  I would have trusted her to delivery the baby if the doctor had not made it in time.  Absolutely loved her.

She weighed 6.61 oz.  A tiny little thing.

Family of four!

Aunt Demi, Mi Mi and big brother Qui Que admiring little Valentina.

Valentina and Papi in the hospital.  You might be wondering why she is in those gender neutral clothes and no bow on her head.  Is this really Angela's first girl?  Well, it is a long story but in short- I had problems with my epidermal and was not feeling well (at all) for about 3 days after.  I didn't have the energy to change her into her cute girly clothes I had brought from home.

Finally ready to go home.  That morning I had to get a blood patch in my back.   When I got my epidermal,  they messed up and hit an area they should not have.  It felt like an electric shock had gone through my foot.  The  anesthesiologist told me I would probably have an headache.   Well, that was not even the beginning of it.  Basically what happened to me was way more painful than my labor.  After I gave birth I laid in bed screaming out in pain because it felt like the nerves in my back were being pinched so hard and would not let up.  They gave me muscle relaxer, 900 ml of ibrophen, morphine and nothing would help.  After several day of horrible pain they decided to do a blood patch.  Which is a similar procedure to an epidermal but they put blood in my back to fix the air bubble in my spine.    That was also a horrible experience because I was all myself and the resident could not find the correct spot to place in and was digging around in my spine for 40 minutes.  I still don't know if the epidermal was worth it.

I didn't realize how small she would be.  The flower is a little overbearing!  :)
