St. Patricks Day

Growing up in the Anderson family we had a tradition- every St. Patrick's Day we would invite friends over and have a green dinner.  I love this tradition so I thought I would continue with the tradition with my own family.  It took a little persuading to convince my Mexican husband that in order to celebrate this Irish holiday we must take perfectly good food and dye it green.  Although he was a great sport in the end he still thought the food would have tasted better left "un green".

Qui Que is snacking on a green roll waiting for our guests to arrive.

I am not into that whole corn beef and cabbage thing so I made green buns and grilled hamburgers, a green salad, green mash potatoes, and chips with salsa verde with a green drink of course.

Qui Que, Scarlett and Cannon enjoying the green dinner.

We invited our friends, Whitney and Nick and their daugher Scarlett and Matt and Sara and their boys, Cannon and Charles for dinner.

This was the best part- dessert!  I made key lime cake and it was the bomb.  I found the recipe on Pinterest.  I definitely recommend it!
